Paradise Springs Community Church
Update: Moon Valley Bible Church has recently set up a support group to help those that are still
struggling with the long term affects of Paradise Springs on their lives. Anyone who has been
adversely affected by PSCC is welcome to attend. For contact information see:
www.moonvalleybible.org

It now appears that PSCC is trying to align itself with the
FGA, Free Grace Alliance
www.freegracealliance.com. Ken Hodgeson is listed as a registered member of their forum. We see
this as a ploy to regain credibility. PSCC has also started a mission board by the name of, "Thin
Blue Line Ministries" .

If you are still a member of PSCC, please be assured of our heart felt prayers for you and Pastor Ken
Hodgeson
. Our first prayer for you is that the Scriptures alone would be your source of truth and the
guiding authority in your lives. The apostle Luke says that the Berean Christians were "more noble,"
because "they listened eagerly to Paul's message and searched the Scriptures day after day to check
up on Paul and Silas, to see if they were really teaching the truth."
Acts 17:11 These believers received
praise for not blindly trusting their leaders. If you have seen that questions are not acceptable to your
leadership, then you have reason for concern. This is one of the first
"Warning Signs" for dangerous
leaders and groups listed by the internationally recognized expert on cult groups, Rick Ross.
Also, if
you read
"The Cult of the Narcissist" by Dr. Sam Vaknin and it sounds like it is describing someone
you know, then it is time to re-evaluate your association with that person and his followers.

Should you be told that you are not allowed to read this web site, you should be all the more wary.
According to
HowCultsWork.com "Legitimate groups have nothing to fear from their members
reading critical information about them."
We would challenge you to look at what Proverbs says about
the fate of those who will not accept questions and criticism. Also, if someone tries to discredit the
questions raised here by attacking the character of those that they believe built this site, then this is yet
another common strategy which is recognized as a
Mind Control technique by cult watch groups. By
definition
Cultwatch views any organization that employs such techniques to acquire, manipulate and
hold its members as a cult, no matter what belief system it is based on.

The use of a mixture of amateur psychology and the Bible in churches during the past 15 to 20 years
has resulted in a dramatic shift in American Christianity. The article written by
Pastor Steven J. Cole
answers some of the questions regarding the adequacy of the Bible to meet all people's inner needs.
After all it is written by the very Creator of the human soul and the Author of Life. The Bible itself claims
to be sufficient for all aspects of our inner lives. For
"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to
teach us what is true and to
make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and
teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every
good thing
God wants us to do." 2 Tim 3:16-17

To those who are familiar with the counseling practices at PSCC, it is readily apparent that the focus for
many years has been on helping adult victims of childhood sexual abuse. Though this is a needed
ministry, we feel that it should be left to licensed counselors that have accountability. It is likely that some
that have been counseled by PSCC have a legitimate history of abuse. But for those that cannot
remember ever being abused, to try to help them "recover" those supposedly lost memories through
counseling is a serious mistake. There are some counselors that have a very strong belief that a large
percentage of people's problems are the result of childhood sexual abuse. Could it be that this belief
gets transferred to their counselees? Even licensed counselors that adamantely believe in the very
controversial theory of repressed memory issue strong warnings that certain methods can indeed
create
false memories. The APA, (American Psychology Association) and many other professional
organizations have issued statements that say the credibility of any "recovered memory" is subject to
corraborating evidence. Some of these "recovered memories" have come about through a form of
Theophostic Prayer Ministry (TPM). (See www.lyingspirits.com.) Tragically, many of the parents and
relatives of those attending PSCC have been accused of abuse based soley on recovered memories.
Has anyone at PSCC sought to find corraborating evidence before counselees were allowed to believe
these things and make accusations? If it is such a sure thing being based on recovered memories
alone, then how many of those accused have been reported to the authorities? Shouldn't these
monsters be brought to justice? Don't many of the stories sound amazingly similar? Is it possible that
such a large percentage of men and woman at PSCC have been abused and repressed the
memories? Does Ken Hodgeson and PSCC create false memories in their counselees? The
inevitable result of this is that whole families are destroyed as family members (usually parents) are
accused of terrible crimes and the adult children break all family ties. (See www.angryparents.net )

Even without the repressed memory counseling, you will see over and over again from the testimonies
on this site that many PSCC members break away from any contact with family and former friends. This
is true unless they too are committed members of PSCC and followers of "The Shepherd." Why is it
that they break away? The testimonies and responses to "Warning Signs" will make that evident.

We have gathered a total of
31 testimonies thus far (some of these represent couples or whole
families). Does PSCC follow a Biblical leadership style? What has PSCC left in it's wake? Has it been
a blessing or a curse to those that have attended there? The answers to these questions are expressed
in the testimonies submitted to this site.

At this point most of those that have written testimonies are remaining anonymous to protect those in
our group who still have family inside PSCC. Please contact us by e-mail if you have any questons or
want to share your experience at PSCC.

In Christ,

PSCCSG
Welcome to the Paradise Springs Community Church Survivor Group web
page. This site was created to be a help to members of PSCC (pscchurch.org) and
a service to others in the Christian community in the North Phoenix area. We are a
prayer group of about 39 members who have come out of PSCC or have family
members attending there. Among us are members that formerly served at PSCC
as heads of ministry, secretaries, intern counselors, missionaries and board and
staff members. We are therefore very familiar with the inner workings of that
ministry.

Though PSCC is registered with the CBA as a Conservative Baptist Church
(cbamerica.org) and initially appears to hold to the basic tenets of the Christian
faith, we are very concerned about what is going on there. Many of us have friends
and loved ones who have cut off all contact with family and friends and everyone
else who are not members of the church. These and other patterns have greatly
alarmed us. Though many of us have confronted these issues with the church
leadership face to face, there is no response.

If you or any of your family or friends are attending, or are thinking about attending,
or have any association with PSCC,
please read on. If nothing else, you need to
know what former members are saying about PSCC. On this website you will find
links to several other sites that we feel have given us a clearer understanding as to
what is going on there.
