If you read the testimonies on the "Warning Signs" page and the "Testimonies" page you will see that Ken Hodgeson and PSCC totally disregard these statements made by licensed counselors. 1) "A counselor should never validate what a counselee may think is a recovered memory or flashback. I tell those that I counsel that I can't say whether I think it is true or not because there is no way for me to know unless there is clear verifiable evidence." 2) "A women can develop false memories and believe that she has been sexual abused just by being placed in a sexual abuse group, even though nothing has ever actually happened to her." 3) "A counselor should never, ever, ever suggest to anyone that the reason for their problems are sexual abuse. A mere suggestion or even a question can cause false memories." 4) "The main goal of any counselor should be reconciliation, when there are broken relationships." 5) "A counselor should never counsel anyone to sever relationships, unless there is actual physical abuse going on at the present." |
